Chapter 6 App. G: Infantry units

Back to introduction Back to Chapter 6

Each infantry unit that appeared in the order of battle of the army in the field is listed here. Listing is in the following order by type of unit, in numerical order of each group: kuk IR; KJR; bhIR; FJB; kk SchR; GbSchR; KSchR; HIR; kk LstIR; kk LstIBaone; ku LstIR; ku LstEtBaone; bhEtBaon; bhLstEtBaone. Other units that were not with the army in the field, being employed on communication zone and interior duties, are not listed here. Each entry is against a date, and the detail that follows is correct at that date. Entries show the formation that the unit served with on that date. A formation title followed by a hyphen and a figure in brackets with no intervening spaces shows the number of sub-units with that formation; for example 70 IBrig-(7) indicates seven battalions of that unit with 70 IBrig on the date specified: the context will make clear when companies might be meant.

This Appendix should be used in conjunction with other appendices to this Chapter and Chapter 6 should be read before using it. Because of the quantity of data, it is split into three sub-appendices:

  1. kuk IR
  2. KJR; bhIR; FJB; kk SchR; GbSchR; KSchR; HIR; kk LstIR
  3. kk LstIBaone; ku LstIR; ku LstEtBaone; bhEtBaon; bhLstEtBaone.
