The card shown here, datable to 1879-80, has a circular cancel with sanserif K K DEPESCHEN-AUFGABSAMT surrounding seriffed No IV. It was sent by the firm of Gustav Piesling, Handelsagentie, at Tuchlauben 8 (just off Graben). It’s addressed to a glass dealer at Praterstrasse 28, and has been routed to Station 9 which is P.A. Leopoldstadt at Taborstrasse 27, the nearest office. This proves that KKDA IV was not at P.A. Leopoldstadt, unless for some improbable reason the person who posted it walked from Graben across the Danube Canal to the delivery office instead of to Telegraph Central, the nearest pneumatic office. The message on the back is "Die belegten Gläser sind bereits abgesendet, Factura folgt nächster Tage. Achtungsvoll." (The ?? glasses have already been sent. The bill follows in the next days. Yours faithfully.) "Belegt" is ambiguous; the most likely meaning is "silvered", like a mirror.
