Inland Registered letter posted Monday 24.3.1947. The sender’s address is Wien 13, Gloriettegasse 35, and he posted it at office 13/1 Wien 89 (which by then was in Hietzing) to Nieder Thalheim 54 (**) arriving Tuesday 25.3.1947. The letter was redirected back to Wien 1, Rathausstrasse 19/11 via Station 64 (faint Instradierungs-Chiffre in violet crayon to left of 8g stamp) arriving back on Friday 28.3.1947 (cds on reverse). Office 64 was Josefstadt in Bezirke VIII; it is now called Wien 1082, and is still located at Mariatreugasse 4-6. Rathausstrasse is in Bez. 1 and 19/11 is the 11th apartment at number 19, which is at the University end. Mariatreugasse is quite close, and also is the nearest pneumatic station; and it was working in 1947.
**Nieder Thalheim is a small village on a side road and 54 is the house (strictly, property) number; Schwanenstadt is a town where the side road joins the main road from Wels to Vöcklabruck. As there is also a Thalheim bei Wels close by, the "bei Schwanenstadt" was probably a wise precaution.
The cover has adhesives for 78G covering inland rate of 18G, registered fee of 30G, 10G Rohrpost surcharge (to expedite its forwarding to the station), and express fee of 20G for immediate if unsuccessful delivery within the area of the Nieder Thalheim Post Office.
The 46 on the left cannot be a pneumatic office number - Vienna 46 was the Packet Delivery office and never had a pneumatic service. The purposes of it and the 3 in the top right are unknown. The 300 at the top is possibly the price the dealer charged for it!
